About Us

Watan Development and Initiative Organization (WDIO) was founded in 2014 and registered with the Ministry of Economy at the same time. In 2023, it was re-registered with the Afghan government under registration number 3120. WDIO is a non-profit, non-governmental, non-political, and independent organization, initiated by experienced Afghan professionals and staff from various sectors, alongside national and international organizations. The founders' goal is to transfer knowledge and expertise from international organizations to a local Afghan entity, ensuring the sustainability of efforts and providing opportunities for Afghans to maximize their potential in humanitarian and development work. WDIO collaborates with the government and partners in the fields of education, agriculture and livestock, health, and social affairs, aiming to strengthen the capacity of Afghans and professionals in these areas.
