About Us

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) addresses the most severe humanitarian emergencies globally and assists individuals in surviving and reconstructing their lives. Established in 1933 upon the request of Albert Einstein, the IRC provides crucial care and transformative support to refugees compelled to flee due to conflict or catastrophe. Operating in more than 40 countries and 22 cities across the United States, we strive to restore safety, dignity, and optimism to millions who have been displaced and are facing hardship. The IRC guides individuals on the journey from danger to stability.
