About Us

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Afghanistan is committed to investing in resilience-building efforts across all 34 provinces. These actions aim to protect agricultural livelihoods and the environment, enhance local production of nutritious foods and income-generating opportunities, and preserve the significant development progress made in the agriculture sector over the past decades. Through initiatives such as revitalizing rural markets and economies, FAO aims to sustainably reinforce resilience. In the period from 2024 to 2026, FAO will continue implementing both emergency and longer-term projects and programs aligned with the UN Strategic Framework for Afghanistan (UNSFA) and the Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan.
