About Us

Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is an international, nonprofit, non-governmental humanitarian relief organization headquartered in Birmingham, United Kingdom. It holds consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council and is a signatory to the Code of Conduct for International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movements and NGOs in Disaster Relief. For over 23 years, Islamic Relief has been actively engaged in Afghanistan, offering immediate relief assistance and executing transformative development initiatives for some of the most disadvantaged individuals in the nation. Islamic Relief established its first office in Afghanistan in 1999. Since then, IRW has consistently provided aid in the form of emergency relief, food security, livelihood support, education, healthcare, nutrition, housing, orphan sponsorship, and special programs for Ramadan and Qurbani.
