The Afghanistan program of People in Need (PIN) was initiated in November 2001, with its initial focus on providing emergency food aid in the mountainous areas of the central highlands. Over the course of two decades, the program has significantly grown and diversified. However, it continues to uphold PIN's fundamental principles, which involve envisioning a world where individuals have the freedom to shape their own futures, without being hindered by factors such as an oppressive society, poverty, lack of education, or discrimination. Today, our efforts encompass a wide range of humanitarian and development activities, providing immediate assistance to Afghanistan's most vulnerable populations while also actively seeking sustainable solutions to the challenges they face.
